Step up to the next level on your rigid heddle loom.
With this course, you will improve your weaving skills and learn how to use them on your rigid heddle loom. In this course, you'll learn all the theory you need to know, as well as how to weave a variety of samples that will introduce you to weave with two heddles.

Course duration: 5h30

Notions covered:
read, understand and adapt a weaving draft (pattern)
weave several samples requiring pick-up stick

Prerequisite skills:
Know how to warp your loom, know the basis about plain weave, yarns and sett or have already followed level 1.

Inclusions:

What to bring:
● your loom with two heddles with the same number of dents (10 or 12.5 would be ideal)
● note-taking equipment
● indoor shoes

Your instructor:
Catherine Malichecq
A lifelong enthusiast of art in general; she practived dance, music, drawing and also different types of crafts, in particular miniaturism, embroidery, felting and weaving. She attended numerous workshops and courses, taught, and won various prizes in embroidery and weaving.
A logical progression between business and crafts, in September 2019 she creates the boutique Tisse et File and in 2020, the Cours Tisse et File.
Catherine is currently studying in the senior level of the Guild of Canadian weavers' Master Weaver program.

Worskhop location:
Tisse et File, 571 Boul. St-Jean-Baptiste in Mercier.

Course schedule
The course runs from 9 to 12 and from 1 to 4pm.

A minimum of 3 and a maximum of 7 participants are required for the course to run smoothly.
Due to the small number of participants, we are unable to exchange or refund the purchase of a course.
