The Tisse et File shop is the result of a logical progression: a passion for art in general, for textile arts in particular, and a chance encounter with weaving.
My name is Catherine Malichecq.
I've always had a passion for art, and for a long time I've been involved in dance, music, drawing and various types of craft, in particular miniaturism, modelling and embroidery.
However, it was in tourism planning that I obtained a master's degree, which opened the door to new horizons. I finally settled in Quebec at the turn of the 2000s and launched a new business in September 2019 with the Tisse et File online boutique. This will be followed in 2020 by the Tisse et File courses, and in 2021 by the opening of a physical boutique in Mercier, QC.
In its first full year of operation, Tisse et File ranks among the Top 10 Ashford representatives and has remained there year after year ever since.
In 2020, I'm enrolling in the Master Weaver program with the Guild of Canadian Weavers, where I'm currently studying at the senior level.
