Tisse et File grew out of a simple path: a lifelong love of art, a particular passion for textiles, and—somewhere along the way—a happy encounter with weaving.
About Catherine
My name is Catherine Malichecq.
I’ve always been drawn to the arts—dance, music, drawing—and to craft traditions such as miniatures, sculpting, and embroidery. I hold a Master’s in tourism planning, which opened new horizons and ultimately brought me to Québec in the early 2000s.
In September 2019, I launched the Tisse et File online shop.
In 2020, we added Tisse et File courses.
In 2021, we opened our brick-and-mortar shop in Mercier, QC.
From its first full year, Tisse et File has ranked Top 10 among Ashford dealers, a position we’ve maintained year after year.
I’m also enrolled in the Guild of Canadian Weavers Master Weaver program and am currently studying at the Senior level.
