Nicole Grenon, from Saint-Michel-de-Bellechasse, Quebec, developed an interest in weaving at an early age. It wasn't until 1983, however, that she began her apprenticeship: a hobby that soon turned into a true passion.
A member of the Groupe de Recherche en Tissage, and a teacher of both spinning and weaving, she has written four books to date.
Leno lace is a very special technique. It is obtained by twisting the warp threads before introducing the weft. The weft is thus firmly held in place, leaving a large opening. A further manipulation allows the warp threads to be temporarily relocated. These techniques are described in detail in this book.
