Frame loom weaving classes - level 1 - 4 days
This basic course will introduce you to frame loom weaving.
Duration: 4 days from 9 to 12 and from 1 to 4 p.m.
October 12, 19, 26 and November 2nd.
At the end of this workshop, you will be able to :
- know the different parts of a frame loom and understand the equipment and its use;
- understand terminology;
- warp a loom indirectly;
- read a weaving pattern;
- calculate the yarn required for a project (warp and weft);
- weave and finish your work;
- know the basic weaves structures,
- understand the usefulness of sampling
During the course, you'll carry out a project yourself.

Who
Catherine Malichecq
With a lifelong passion for art, she has long practiced dance, music, drawing and also various types of crafts, in particular miniaturism, embroidery, felting and weaving. She attends numerous workshops and courses, teaches, and wins various prizes in embroidery and weaving. She is a member of various weavers' associations in Quebec, Canada and abroad. Catherine is currently studying in the senior level of the Guild of Canadian weavers' Master Weaver program.
In September 2019, she will create the boutique Tisse et File, and in 2020, the Cours Tisse et File.

The spinning course will take place at Tisse et File, 571 Boul. St-Jean-Baptiste in Mercier.
When
The course takes place on November 18, 25 and December 2, 2023, from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
