Kromski : Rigid heddle looms, spinning wheels and other accesories
Kromski and Sons is a Polish family business.
Three generations of Kromskis have worked with wood and learned the craft of woodturning, a skill they have elevated to an art.
Leon Kromski started a woodturning business in 1918 and operated it until 1939, when the impact of World War II and Communism prevented it from going forward.
His son, also named Leon, had acquired the mastery of woodturning from his father. Thus, in the 1960s, he created a new company and produced a first line of spinning wheels.
Today, the family business continues to evolve, thanks to Leon's two sons: Wojciech Kromski, the wood technology engineer, and Daniel Kromski, the artist and designer of the current Kromski product line.
Their main products are spinning wheels, which now have 7 very distinct models, with superb lines and impeccable design: the Fantasia, the Interlude, the Minstrel, the Polonaise, the Prelude, the Symphony, and the Sonata.
A whole range of accessories accompanies these majestic spinning wheels, offered in different types of wood and sometimes in original colours.
In 2001, they developed and produced a very popular rigid heddle loom, the Harp Forte. This sweeping comb loom with magnificent curves is also available in two wood species as well as the vast majority of its accessories.
Then the Presto, another small loom with a spreading comb and its accessories were born. In 2023, the range is expanding with a mint-coloured Presto.
Kromski also manufactures accessories for spinning and weaving, such as: bobbins, cards, stools, mandrels, creels...
Moreover, this little mint-colored Presto loom echoes the brand's other novelties. Since 2022, Kromski has launched a range of products in shimmering colors (spindles and mandrels in particular) and limited-edition spinning wheels, such as the mint Fantasia.
The Kromskis pride themselves on supplying spinners and weavers around the world with high quality spinning and weaving tools that are contemporary and modern in design. Tools that, in addition to being beautiful, improve the daily lives of textile enthusiasts and artists.
